Pianist Tianhong Yang is highly acclaimed in the world of classical music for her exceptional technique, profound artistic insight, and outstanding stage performances. She showcases remarkable musical talent and a deep understanding of music in her piano playing, earning widespread appreciation for her delicate musical expression and unique artistic style.

As an internationally renowned artist, Yang has achieved top honors in several major international piano competitions, including first prizes at the Liege International Piano Competition in Belgium, the Antonio Bertolini International Competition in Milan, Italy, and the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA) Competition. She has performed in many prestigious venues across Europe and America, including Carnegie Hall in New York, USA; DeSingel in Antwerp, Belgium; BBC Hoddinott Hall in Cardiff, UK; and Auditorio Sony in Madrid, Spain. She has also collaborated with the Antwerp Camerata and was a featured guest artist at the Klara Festival in Belgium in 2017. In addition to her concert appearances, Yang has been invited to perform solo recitals at numerous esteemed music festivals worldwide, including The Art of Piano Festival, Imuse Festival, and the Hanoi International Piano Festival.

Embracing her role as a diverse musician of the 21st century, Yang actively promotes contemporary music throughout her career. She not only possesses a broad international perspective in music but also engages in cross-cultural exchange and music projects. In 2016, she premiered Daniel Davis's Sonata for Violin and Piano with violinist Filipe Abreu, with their performance recorded by RTP Portugal. As co-founders of Aroma Duo, Tianhong Yang and Johnny Mok work closely with composers to present their latest works, aiming to enlighten and inspire audiences with fresh perspectives. Aroma Duo has performed chamber music by contemporary composers from diverse backgrounds, including Chinese composer Zhang Haofu based in Belgium, Turkish composer Fazil Say, and Afghan composer Arson Fahim.

Yang continues to tour globally as a solo pianist and actively engages in chamber music with musicians from varied cultural backgrounds, exploring diverse musical styles and performance approaches. Aroma Duo has been featured as guest artists in numerous chamber music series, such as the Cape Ann Symphony Orchestra, Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra, and Macau Alternative Music Festival.

Currently, Dr. Yang serves as adjunct faculty in piano at Plymouth State University, further contributing to the enrichment of aspiring musicians.
